Walter Lacarbonara is a Professor of Nonlinear Dynamics at Sapienza University of Rome. Hisresearch interests cover nonlinear structural dynamics; experimental nonlinear dynamics;nonlinear control of vibrations; asymptotics; macro and nanocomposites; dynamics ofnanomaterials. His research is supported by several national and international sources including AFOSR, NSF, MIUR, EU. He is the Chair of the ASME (American Society of Mechanical Engineers)Technical Committee on Multibody Systems and Nonlinear Dynamics. He has organized over 10international symposia and conference sessions, serving as program co-chair of the ASME 2013IDETC (Portland, USA) and as general co-chair of the 2015 IDETC (Boston, USA). He is Editor-in-Chief of Nonlinear Dynamics (Springer Nature), Associate Editor of the International Journal ofAeronautical and Space Sciences, past Associate Editor of the ASME Journal of Vibration andAcoustics, ASME Journal of Applied Mechanics, Subject Editor of the Journal of Sound andVibration. He has published over 190 papers and conference proceedings, holds three patents, contributed 10 book chapters, and a published one book (Springer).
