This book focuses on the control-by-wire system, particularly the steer-by-wire system, as well as its control and optimization issues in chassis integration. The steering stability of the vehicle, handling portability, and overall performance of the chassis system are improved by steer-by-wire technology, which includes stability control, road-feeling control, decoupling control, force and displacement coordinated control, and chassis integration optimization. Furthermore, intelligent control goals such as active collision avoidance and active rollover prevention of the vehicle are realized, and the active safety of the vehicle is increased, due to the integrated control of the steer-by-wire system and chassis system. In this book, different types of steer-by-wire systems are introduced, as well as thorough force and displacement control strategies and their implementation in chassis integrated control, ensuring the intelligent and unmanned driving's control reaction speed andprecision.



 

Wanzhong Zhao, the young top-notch talent of the Ten Thousand Talent Program, professor of the vehicle engineering. His research interests include vehicle safety control and the control-by-wire execution technology of chassis. He has hosted more than 30 items of the National key R&D Plan, the National Nature Science Foundation, and the Provincial Research Projects. He has published over 80 SCI papers as the only corresponding author, one monograph, and one National Planned Teaching Material. He applied over 180 invention patents, where 60 of them are authorized and 19 of them are the PCT patents. He has won three items of the first prize of the society and the second prize of national and provincial levels. Besides, he is the editor or guest editor of Applied Energy, Journal of Mechanical Engineering, etc., and has been the chairman of the international Academic Conference Procedure Committee for many times.
