The volume contains original research papers as the Proceedings of the International Conference on Applied Nonlinear Analysis and Soft Computing (ANASC 2020), held at Gauhati University, Guwahati, India, on 22-23 December, 2020. It focuses on current research topics in applied analysis including nonlinearity, soft computing and related areas. It primarily includes topics related to pattern recognition, reaction-diffusion problem, decision making problems, inventory model, predator-prey model, logistic models, wave problems, problems in Magnetohydrodynamics, cosmological model, harmonic functions, graphs, shapes, etc.

Researchers, educators, scientist and professionals interested in recent developments in applied analysis including nonlinearity aspects and soft computing should be benefited from this volume.

Hemen Dutta is a faculty member in the Department of Mathematics at Gauhati University, India. He did his Master of Science in Mathematics, Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Application, M.Phil in Mathematics and Ph.D. in Mathematics, respectively. His current topics of research interest are in the areas of mathematical analysis and modelling. He has to his credit over 170 research works as journal articles, book chapters and conference proceedings papers. He has also published several books including reference books, edited volumes and conference proceedings. He is also on the editorial board of some SCI-Exp. and Scopus indexed journals. He has organized many academic events and associated with several other events in different capacities. He has delivered several invited talks and served as resource person at national and international levels. He has also visited some foreign academic institutions on invitations. He has authored many popular and general articles on education and research for newspaper, magazine and science portals.

Nazibuddin Ahmed is Professor and Head of the Department of Mathematics, Gauhati University, India. Prior to joining in Gauhati University on 10th January, 2006, as Associate Professor he had served  Cotton College (now Cotton University), Guwahati-1 for more than 20 years. He obtained his Ph. D Degree in 1991 in the field of Magneto-Fluid Dynamics from Gauhati University. He was awarded D. Sc Degree by Gauhati University in 2018 for his research work in Heat and Mass Transfer in hydromagnetic flows. Around 200 research papers have been published by him in different nationally and internationally reputed journals. Two major research projects, one from UGC and other from CSIR, have been completed successfully by him. No. of PhD awardee is 20 under his supervision. He has jointly authored two text books in Mathematics. A book entitled THERMAL AND SOLUTAL CONVECTION IN SOME HYDROMAGNETIC FLOWS is being published by Springer. A book entitled A CONTEMPORARY MECHANICS is submitted for possible publication. His present research fields are Magneto Fluid Dynamics and Heat and Mass Transfer.

Ravi P. Agarwal is Professor in the Department of Mathematics, Texas A&M University-Kingsville, USA. He has been actively involved in research as well as pedagogical activities for the last 49 years. His major research interests include Numerical Analysis, Differential and Difference Equations, Inequalities, and Fixed Point Theorems.  He has published 45 research monographs and more than 1,700 publications (with almost 500 mathematicians all over the world) in prestigious national and international mathematics journals. He worked previously either as a regular faculty or as a visiting professor and scientist in universities in several countries, including India, Germany, Italy, Canada, Australia, USA, Singapore, and Japan. He has been ranked as a Highly Cited Researcher for 14 consecutive years, and has also been recognized as one of the 'World's Most Influential Scientific Minds' in 2014 and 2015 by Thomas Reuters (World's most prestigious scientific organization).
