This book discusses terahertz (THz) wireless communication, particularly for 6G enabling technologies, including antenna design, and channel modeling with channel characteristics for the success of reliable 6G wireless communication. The authors describe THz microstrip antenna technologies with different substrates and introduce some useful substrates to reduce the conductor and substrate losses at the THz frequencies. The discussion also includes the design of the THz unit-cell microstrip antenna and the techniques to boost the microstrip antennas' gain, directivity, and impedance bandwidth (BW), which influence the wireless communication range which is highly affected by the path losses of atmospheric conditions, and transmit and receive data rates, respectively. Moreover, this book discusses the multi-beam and beamforming THz antenna technologies with the multi-user-multiple-input-multiple-output (MU-MIMO) features.  Additionally, this book describes the reconfigurable capabilities, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and deep learning  technologies that will influence the success of 6G wireless communication and the authors suggest a remedy for integrating multiple radios into the system-on-chip (SoC) design.

Uri Nissanov completed his Ph.D. degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering with Excellence at the University of Johannesburg in February 2022. In addition, he holds M.Sc. with dissertation and B.Tech. in Electric and Electronic Engineering with Excellence, all from of University of Ariel, Israel. Besides that, he holds an M.Sc. in Electric and Electronic Engineering with Excellence from the Holon Institute of Technology (HIT), Israel. His research interests are in the design and simulation of THz band / mmWave frequency with high-gain, broadband microstrip array antennas, reconfigurable antennas, beam steering microstrip antennas, MIMO antennas, and components such as Wilkinson power dividers, T-power dividers, frequency selective surfaces (FSSs), substrate-integrated waveguides (SIWs), and beam-steering Rotman Lens for the next-generation wireless communication systems (B5G/6G). Currently, he is working as a post-doctoral research fellow at the University of Johannesburg on antenna technology for THz wireless communication.

Ghanshyam Singh received a Ph.D. degree in Electronics Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi, India, in 2000. Currently, he is working as a full Professor and Director with the Centre for Smart Information and Communication Systems, Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering Sciences, Auckland Park Kingsway Campus, University of Johannesburg, South Africa. Earlier, he was associated with Central Electronics Engineering Research Institute, Pilani, and Institute for Plasma Research, Gandhinagar, India, respectively, where he was Research Scientist. He was a Visiting Researcher at the Seoul National University, Seoul, South Korea. He has worked as a Professor with the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, Jaypee University of Information Technology, Wakanaghat, Solan, India. He is an author/co-author of more than 290 scientific research papers of the refereed Journal and International Conferences. His research and teaching interests include Millimeter/THz Wave Technologies its Applications in Communication and Imaging, Next-Generation Communication Systems (5G/6G)/Cognitive Radio/NOMA, Resource Allocation and Management, Interference Management, Applications of 5G/6G in Sustainable Smart City, Industry 4.0/5.0, Healthcare 4.0, Intelligent Transport System, Energy Management (IoE) and Digital Farming. He has more than 22 years of teaching and research experience in Academia and Research & Development Institutions. He has supervised 15 Ph.D. and 42 M.Tech. Theses (Awarded).
