Professor Sabu Thomas is the Director of Centre for Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam, Kerala, India. He is also currently the Chairman of the Trivandrum Engineering Science and Technology Research Park (TrESPARK), Trivandrum, Kerala, India. He was the former Vice Chancellor of Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam, Kerala, India. Prof. Thomas is a highly committed teacher and a remarkably active researcher well-known nationally and internationally for his outstanding contributions in polymer science and nanotechnology. He has published over 1400 research articles in international refereed journals. and has also edited and written 210 books. His H-index is 140 and total citations are more than 94,000. He has supervised 125 PhD theses. He has received many international and national awards and recognitions. Under the leadership of Prof. Thomas, Mahatma Gandhi University has been transformed into a top University in India. Abitha V.K. is a Senior Research Fellow at the School of Chemical Sciences, Mahatma Gandhi University, India. Her areas of research include rubber, polymer blends, fibre filled polymer composites, particulate filled polymer composites and their morphological and structural characterization. Dr. Abitha has written several book chapters, and has co-edited three books with Elsevier. KP Jibin is a Senior Researcher at the School of Chemical Sciences, Mahatma Gandhi University, India. He completed his Master of Science degree in Analytical Chemistry in 2016, and was ranked first in the MSc Analytical Chemistry at Mahatma Gandhi University. Jibin has presented several papers at national and international conferences. As part of his work on nanomaterials, he has been involved in projects on optical studies of samarium complexes, synthesized using curcumin, isolated from turmeric extract as ligand, and on the synthesis of Mg and Co co-doped ZnO-based diluted magnetic semi-conductors, for optoelectronic applications. Currently he is working in the area of hybrid polymer nanocomposites for engineering applications. He has published 10 journal articles, more than 10 book chapters and edited two books. Dr. Hanna J Maria is a senior researcher at the International and Interuniversity Centre for Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (IIUCNN), Mahatma Gandhi University, India. She finished her Ph. D in the year 2015 from Mahatma Gandhi University. Soon after her Ph. D she completed work to improve the adhesion between the fibers and LDPE and evaluate the effect of plasma modification as part of her post-doctoral work at the Centre for Advanced Materials at Qatar University, India. She was also a postdoctoral fellow within the department of Mechanical Engineering at Yamaguchi University, Japan in a project with TOCLAS corporation. She got the Dr. D. S. Kothari Postdoctoral Fellowship (DSKPDF) with Prof Sabu Thomas, Professor Mahatma Gandhi University. She has 25 publications, 15 book chapters and 6 co-edited books edited to her credit. Earlier she had obtained her M.Sc. degree in analytical chemistry and later completed her M.Phil. in environmental chemistry. She has experience in working with natural rubber composites and their blends, thermoplastic composites, lignin, nanocellulose, bionanocomposites, nanocellulose, rubber based composites and nanocomposites and hybridnanocomposites.
