Oil policy in Europe has traditionally focused mainly on the issue of energy security and supply. But in the 1990s, many aspects have become more pressing: the impact of European legislation toward a Single Energy Market; the transformation of Eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union; varied environmental pressures; and broader aspects of external relations and changing structures in the international oil market. This book explores the implications of these changes on the policy issues that must be addressed regarding the production, refining, distribution, and marketing of oil in Europe. John V.
