Yuui Yokota was born in Kumamoto, Japan, in 1979. He received the B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Tokyo, Tokyo, Japan, in 2003, 2005, and 2008, respectively, all in applied physics.,He became an Assistant Professor with the Institute of Multidisciplinary Research for Advanced Materials, Tohoku University, in 2008. In 2011, he joined the Institute for Materials Research, Tohoku University, as an Assistant Professor. In 2013, he became an Associate Professor with the New Industry Creation Hatchery Center (NICHe), Tohoku University. He has been involved in nonorganic material science, especially single crystals of piezoelectric and scintillator materials, and developed a various growth methods of the various functional single crystals. Dr. Yokota is a member of the Japan Society of Applied Physics and the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science 161 committee.
