Gloria Soberón-Chávez is a Professor and Senior Researcher at the Biomedical Research Institute of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) in the Department of Molecular Biology and Biotechnology. She obtained her PhD in 1986 from UNAM Basic Biomedical Research Program and has been a researcher in this university ever since, working with different bacterial models such as Rhizobium etli, Azotobacter vinelandii and P. aeruginosa among others. Dr. Soberón-Chávez has around ninety publications in peer reviewed scientific journals such as Proceeding of the National Academy Science USA, Trends in Microbiology, Molecular Microbiology, Journal of Bacteriology, BMC-Genomics, and Microbial Biotechnology.
