The research papers presented at the TGDIC 2021 conference were organized into three main categories: tourism, gastronomy, and tourist destinations, written by authors from various countries such as Indonesia, China, India, Switzerland, UK, Portugal, and Hungary.
The book focuses on contemporary research on tourism, gastronomy, and tourist destinations presented at the 3rd Tourism Gastronomy and Destination International Conference (TGDIC 2021). It serves as a platform for knowledge and experience sharing and invites tourism scholars, practitioners, decision-makers, and stakeholders from all parts of society and from various regions of the world to share their knowledge, experience, concepts, examples of good practice, and critical analysis with their international peers. The research papers presented at the conference were organized into three main categories: tourism, gastronomy, and tourist destinations, written by authors from various countries such as Indonesia, China, India, Switzerland, UK, Portugal, and Hungary.

Hera Oktadiana earned her Ph.D from the School of Hotel and Tourism Management, the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. She also received Certified Hospitality Educator (CHE) from the American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institute. She has been the Head of Hotel Management and Tourism Departments at Bina Nusantara (BINUS) University and Bunda Mulia University, and Deputy Manager for the International Hotel and Tourism at Trisakti School of Tourism in Indonesia. She joined James Cook University, Australia as a Visiting Scholar in 2017, then later as an Adjunct Associate Professor. She is also affiliated with Trisakti School of Tourism’s postgraduate program. Her research interests include tourism education and tourist behavior. She has published articles in various reputable international hospitality and tourism journals, also book chapters. She also published an edited book titled "Delivering Tourism Intelligence: From Analysis to Action". She is on the Editorial Board of Asia Pacific Journal of Tourism Research, International Journal of Tourism Cities, and Journal of Hospitality and Tourism Insights. She is a guest editor for the International Journal of Tourism Cities’ special issue: "Contemporary Trends, Issues and Challenges in Southeast Asian Tourism Cities". She is now the Regional Vice President Southeast Asia of the International Tourism Studies Association (ITSA). Myrza Rahmanita earned her Doctoral Degree in Economics from the University of Indonesia, Indonesia. Her Master Degree was MSc in Tourism and Environmental Management from Bournemouth University, England. She was a Fellow of "AusAID Australian-Leadership-Awards" at Flinders University (Australia). She joined Trisakti School of Tourism, Indonesia in 2002. She has been the Head of Research Centre and Community Service Department in 2004-2007. Currently since 2019, and also in 2015 she is the Head Department of Tourism Magister Program in Trisakti School of Tourism Indonesia. She has also participated in the national tourism development by taking part as Ministry of Tourism’s Accelerating Team for Urban-Rural Tourism Development in 2018 also the member of several research and development project in West Java Province, Indonesia. She is an Associate Professor and also Visiting Professor at universities in Thailand, Switzerland and China. Her research interests are mainly engaged in the field of tourism economics, the economics of tourism, tourist behaviour, special interest tourism, indigenous ecotourism, and halal tourism. She has published scientific articles in various national and international journals. She was then Editor in Chief for Tourism Research Journal as well as Jurnal Ilmiah Pariwisata, and also peer reviewer for a number of scientific journals. Rina Suprina currently serves as Head of Research and Community Service Centre at Trisakti School of Tourism, Jakarta. Prior to her present position, she worked as Head of Undergraduate Program in Hospitality and Tourism. She is also in charge of the project collaborated with Tropical Forest Conservation Action (TFCA) Sumatera to develop ecotourism in Mentawai. She earned two master’s degree: Master of Science in Tourism and Master of Humaniora in English Applied Linguistics. Her research interests are English for Specific Purposes, Community Based Tourism and Tourist Destination Management. She presented her research in various international seminars, and currently is an editor in chief in Jurnal Ilmiah Pariwisata (Tourism Scientific Journal) and a reviewer in Tourism Research Journal (TRJ) Pan Junyang earned his Ph. D from the Northwestern Polytechnical University, China. He also had his Post-Doctoral in Nanyang Technological University, Singapore from 2011 to 2014. He joined in Guilin Tourism University, China in 2017. He has been the Executive Dean of Belt and Road International School (BRIS) of Guilin Tourism University, China. Currently he is the Head of Academic for Artificial Intelligence in School of Tourism Data, Guilin tourism University and the Chief Scientist in Guangxi Tourism Data Center, China. He is also the key member of several research and development project in Guangxi Province, China. His research interests are mainly engaged in Tourism big data analysis, applications of intelligent algorithms. He has published articles in some various local and international journals. He also has participated in the development of national defense pre-research projects in China and Singapore, the development and deployment of smart trolley management system for Singapore Changi Airport based on image processing, and the design of intelligent road lamp control system in Singapore. He is an Editorial Board for ASEAN Tourism Research Center. In addition, he is also the key member of China Computer Federation (CCF).
