In this book you will find the feasibility study of a renewable energy system in a rural area, which is inhabited by an indigenous community. The study was carried out in the community's educational institution. The objective of this study is to analyse the feasibility of implementing an alternative energy system, in this case a photovoltaic system. A bibliographical review of the implementation of renewable energies in different schools is carried out, taking into account the existing international, national and local regulations. On the other hand, some examples of educational institutions that have implemented academic projects with students on the use of non-conventional energy sources are pointed out.
