This book presents the latest multi-pollutant (mainly NOx, SOx, particulate matter, heavy metals) control technologies for flue gases and the applications in coal-fired power plants. Pollutant control by catalytic, electric, and absorption methods, the multi-pollutant removal system and its performance evaluation are systematically introduced. This book is a valuable reference for researchers and practitioners in environmental science & engineering, energy  power engineering, and chemical science & engineering, etc.

Xiang Gao is currently the Dean and a Professor of the College of Energy Engineering, Zhejiang University, Hangzhou, China, and the Director of Coal-Fired Air Pollution Control Engineering Center for Ministry of National Environmental Protection, China. He received his B.S. and Ph.D. degrees from Zhejiang University. His research focuses on simultaneous removal of multi-pollutants (NOx, SOx, particulate matter and heavy metal, etc.) in flue gas, flue gas desulphurization, flue gas denitration, PM2.5 Control, and energy-saving technology. He has won First prize of the National Award for Technological Invention, Second prize of the National Award for Scientific and Technological Progress, Second prize of the National Award for Technological Invention, Second prize of the National Award for Teaching Achievements, the Chinese Outstanding Patents Award, etc. He has published more than 200 peer-reviewed papers, more than 60 invention patents (including 3 international patents) and more than 30 national/industrial standards has been authorized.

Chenghang Zheng is a Professor of the College of Energy Engineering, Zhejiang University, Hangzhou, China. He received his B.S. and Ph.D. degrees from Zhejiang University. His main research activities include simultaneous removal of multi-pollutant from flue Gas, PM2.5 control, and high temperature electrostatic precipitation. He has won the First prize of the National Award for Technological Invention, First Prize of China Machinery Industry Science and Technology Award, and Golden Award of Patent of Zhejiang. He has published more than 100 peer-reviewed papers, over 15 invention patents, and 9 national/industrial standards has been authorized.

Pen-Chi Chiang is a Distinguished Professor of the Graduate Institute of Environmental Engineering, Taiwan University, Taipei, Taiwan, China. He received B.E. and M.E. in Civil Engineering from National Taiwan University, and Ph.D. degree from Purdue University. His scientific activities cover physicochemical treatments of environmental pollution, such as air pollutant control, carbon adsorption, membrane and ozonation processes. He is also devoted to the research work in the area of carbon capture technology, integrated watershed management, and sustainability for energy and industrial development. He was the Director of Carbon Cycle Research Center of National Taiwan University, BCCE of American Academy of Environmental Engineers and Scientists (AAEES), Fellow of Water Environment Federation (WEF), and Diplomat of the American Academy of Water Resources Engineers of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE). He has published more than 250 paper papers in the above area since 1990.

Kefa Cen is a member of the Chinese Academy of Engineering. He received his Ph.D. degree from Moscow State Technical University named after Bauman. His scientific activities cover clean coal combustion and gasification, utilization of waste, renewable energy, biomass gasification & bio-oil production, simultaneous removal of multi-pollutants, Computer Aided Test (CAT) for boiler and multiphase flow of gas-solid in engineering, advanced measurements techniques and diagnostics during combustion. He is currently the Director of the Institute for Thermal Power Engineering at Zhejiang University and Chairman of the Chinese Society of Power Engineering's International Cooperation & Exchange Committee. He has won over ten National Awards including Natural Science, Technological Invention, Scientific and Technical Progress. He has published over 1000 peer-reviewed papers and 20 books.
