Covers the very latest technologies; detailed description of process chemistry; and thermodynamics and product by-product specifications of plant in the petroleum refining process.
Master the latest technologies powering the petroleum industry! If staying on top of the latest developments in the petroleum refining process industry is part of your work, here's the one-stop resource you need. "Handbook of Petroleum Refining Processes" delivers comprehensive coverage of how major players like UOP, KBR, STRATCO, Belco, Stone & Webster, Foster Wheeler, Chevron Lummus Global, ConocoPhillips, ChevronTexaco, and Shell, are taking these processes to new heights through technology. Thoroughly revised and expanded this new edition of the "Handbook of Petroleum Processes" features new chapters that focus on the technological, pollution-control, and economic aspects of 61 petroleum refining processes as created by a host of industry powerhouses. The technologies covered include: alkylation and polymerization, base aromatics production processes, catalytic cracking, catalytic reforming, dehydrogenation, hydrogen production, hydrocracking, hydrotreating, isomerization, separation processes, sulfur compound extraction and sweetening, visbreaking and coking, oxygenates production technologies; and hydrogen processing.
Gas to liquids technologies, and estimates of capital and operating costs are provided, along with information on the design of additions to existing refineries and the construction of new ones.

Robett A. Meyers was manager of Chemical Process Technology at TRW and is now President of RAMTECH Limited. A resident of Redondo Beach, CA, Dr. Meyers is the inventor or co-inventor of a number of broadly used engineering processes, and has managed projects in nearly every facet of the petroleum refining industry. He is a senior member of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers, a member of the American Chemical Society, and serves on the UCLA Chemistry Department Advisory Board. His complete biography appears in Who's Who in the World.
