This book presents recent trends and enhancements in the convergence of immersive technology and smart cities. The authors discuss various domains such as medical education, construction, brain interface, interactive storytelling, edification, and journalism in relation to combining smart cities, IoT and immersive technologies. The book sets up a medium to promulgate insights and in depth understanding among experts in immersive technologies, IoT, HCI and associated establishments. The book also includes case studies, survey, models, algorithms, frameworks and implementations in storytelling, smart museum, medical education, journalism and more. Various practitioners, academicians and researchers in the domain contribute to the book. 

Sagaya Aurelia has worked for over 17 years with leading engineering colleges, universities both India and overseas.  She completed her Doctorate in Computer Science and Engineering, diploma and bachelor degree in electronics and communication, Masters in information technology. She has published more than 50 papers in international/national journals and conferences.  She is also a member of many professional bodies such as Internet society, SAISE, International association of Engineers, International Economics Development Research Center and International Association of Computer Science and Information Technology. She is also Editorial Board Member of International Organization of Scientific Research and Development Journals and AR Research Publication and Conference World to name few. She has also won various awards such as Nobel Researcher in Computer Science, IARDO Award for Best Research Paper-2018, Best Paper Award in, Annual Humanistic Management Conference 2018. She has participated more than 50 seminars and 10 webinars.

Sara Paiva is an Associate Professor at the Polytechnic Institute of Viana do Castelo, a PhD in Informatics Engineering from University of Vigo and a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Oviedo since January 2018, under advanced driving assistants and urban mobility. Sara Paiva coordinates ARC4DigiT, the Applied Research Center for Digital Transformation (http://arc4digit.ipvc.pt), created in January 2018 and currently under approval of the Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology. Her main line of research is mobility solutions. She is frequent book editor of Springer and IGI books, has more than 30 publications in international journals and conferences, is a frequent reviewer of journals and international conferences and has oriented several final projects of Bachelor and Master in her main line of work.
