Global Energy Interconnection Development and Cooperation Organization, launched in March 2016 with its headquarters in Beijing, China, Global Energy Interconnection Development and Cooperation Organization (GEIDCO) is a non-profit international organization dedicated to promoting the sustainable development of energy worldwide. The mission of GEIDCO is to promote the establishment of Global Energy Interconnection (GEI) to meet global power demand with clean and green alternatives, to implement the United Nations 'Sustainable Energy for All' and climate change initiatives, and to serve the sustainable development of humanity.

The Chairman of GEIDCO is Mr. Liu Zhenya, who is also Chairman of China Electricity Council (CEC) and former Chairman of State Grid Corporation of China (SGCC). GEIDCO has established cooperation ties and partnership with 150 international organizations, business communities, universities and research institutions from more than 80 countries.Apart from this, GEIDCO has released over 28 research and planning reports on GEI Backbone Grid, Africa Energy Interconnection, and Northeast Asia Energy Interconnection, etc.
