A perfect refresher on the kinematics and dynamics of machinery. The book uses analytical techniques, without complex mathematics, in the design of mechanical devices. Included with the book is a set of programs, written in MATLAB, which can be run to illustrate kinematics principles. The source code is also provided so readers can modify and customize the programs.
About the authors: Kenneth Waldron, John B. Nordholt Professor and Department Chairman at the Ohio State University, has been practicing in the field of mechanical engineering for over 25 years. He received his Ph.D. from Stanford University and is the co--author of a book entitled Machines that Walk (MIT Press). He is the author of over 200 publications on a range of topics including geometric, mechanical and software design of robots and computer coordinated mechanical systems. Gary Kinzel, Associate Chairman at The Ohio State University, has been teaching for more than 25 years. He received his Ph.D. from Purdue University and has written more than 100 publications on CAD/CAM, manufacturing, rapid design prototyping, kinematics and linkage design, design of machine elements, and sheet metal forming.
