Dynamics and Control of Nuclear Reactors presents the latest knowledge and research in reactor dynamics, control and instrumentation; important factors in ensuring the safe and economic operation of nuclear power plants. This book provides current and future engineers with a single resource containing all relevant information, including detailed treatments on the modeling, simulation, operational features and dynamic characteristics of pressurized light-water reactors, boiling light-water reactors, pressurized heavy-water reactors and molten-salt reactors. It also provides pertinent, but less detailed information on small modular reactors, sodium fast reactors, and gas-cooled reactors.

Dr. Kerlin has more than 55 years of experience in teaching and research related to nuclear reactor dynamics, control, and testing. He has published extensively and is the author, co-author or contributor for five books on energy, reactor dynamics, and instrumentation. He has worked in both academia and industry. Dr. Kerlin has now retired as the Head of the Department of Nuclear Engineering at the University of Tennessee. Dr. Upadhyaya has more than 40 years of experience in teaching and research related to nuclear reactor dynamics, control, instrumentation, monitoring, diagnostics and advanced reactors. He has published more than 350 articles in refereed journals and conference proceedings, and book chapters. He is a Life Fellow of International Society of Automation, a Fellow of American Nuclear Society, a Fellow of International Society of Engineering Asset Management, and a Life Senior Member of Institute of Electrical & Electronics Engineers. Dr. Upadhyaya has now retired as a Professor of Nuclear Engineering at the University of Tennessee.
