John Lester Miller (Lo, OR) has been a well-known photonics industry consultant for over 30 years. He is the author of Principles of Infrared Technology and the first edition of Photonics Rules of Thumb Ed Friedman (Golden, CO) is an optical engineering consultant. He co-authored the first edition of Photonics Rules of Thumb.
