This book presents revealing case studies on carbon footprint calculation and mitigation in various industrial sectors. There are numerous sectors whose carbon footprints need to be calculated, and effective ways to mitigate the greenhouse-gas emissions from these sectors need to be found. Using representative case studies, this book highlights the carbon footprint of national power generation systems, crude glycerol production plants and the Brazilian highway network system, as well as the integration of renewable energy sources in expansion planning, so as to promote and implement power system decarbonization.

Dr Subramanian Senthilkannan Muthu holds a Ph.D. in Textiles Sustainability and has written over 75 books and 80 research publications and is currently working as Head of Sustainability for SgT & API. He is well known for his contributions in the field of Environmental Sustainability in various industrial sectors and has extensive academic and industrial experience. In addition, he is the Editor-in-Chief of the Textiles & Clothing Sustainability Journal.

Prospective Assessment of the Carbon Footprint of a National Power Generation System.- Energy Valorisation of Bio-glycerol: Carbon Footprint of Co-pyrolysis Process of Crude Glycerol in a CHP Plant.- Decarbonisation of Electricity Generation: Efforts and Challenges.- Carbon Footprint of Brazilian Highway Network.
