The "Polymer Science and Technology Series" systematically covers a wide range of key areas in polymer science and technology. Each volume in the series focuses on an individual area of current importance in the polymer industry and is edited by an acknowledged expert in the field. The "Handbook of Adhesion" is a compilation of almost 200 self-contained articles covering various aspects of adhesion. Adhesion is a topic of great importance both scientifically and industrially. Adhesion is used in products ranging from shoes and printed circuit boards to state-of-the-art aircraft components. The "Handbook" includes the background science - chemistry, physics, and materials science - and engineering needed in working with adhesion, and includes the aspects of adhesion relevant to the use of adhesives, sealants and mastics, paints and coating, printing and composite materials. It is alphabetically arranged for ease of access and fully cross referenced, making quick reference easy. It does not assume a detailed knowledge of individual science or engineering disciplines, making it accessible to scientists and engineers qualified at degree level.
