Not only since Jules Verne published his novel "De la Terre à la Lune" in 1965 have people dreamed of entering space. Yuri Alexeyevich Gagarin was the first man in orbit on 12 April 1961 according to official statements. Neil Alden Armstrong is said to have been the first person to set foot on the moon on July 21, 1969. Since then, technical development has brought rapid progress. Manned flights to Mars are now even being planned.
This development is accompanied by considerations to allow many people on earth an excursion into an earth orbit. The commercialization of space is no longer a distant version of the future, but there are concrete plans to make the next steps possible.
In addition to the US American NASA and the European ESA, other countries and private companies are pursuing ambitious goals. For this purpose legal bases had to and must be created, e.g. the Moon Treaty.
In this book, Thomas A. M. Windelschmidt presents the historical processes, explains the status quo and dares to look into the future. Let yourself be carried away into a time that can offer a lot of exciting things and let your imagination run wild. The future is just around the corner
