The book focuses on the reduction of fundamental (low-frequency) voltage ripples in conventional half-bridge rectifiers, after adding an independently controlled neutral leg. Active control strategies are designed to properly operate the neutral leg.

Professor Qing-Chang Zhong, Illinois Institute of Technology, Chicago, USA Qing-Chang Zhong holds the Max McGraw Endowed Chair Professor in Energy and Power Engineering and Management at Illinois Institute of Technology, USA. His current research focuses on advanced control theory, power electronics and the seamless integration of both to address fundamental challenges in various energy and power systems. He is the author of three books. Wen-Long Ming, The University of Sheffield, UK Wen-Long Ming received his B.Eng. and M.Eng. in Automation from Shandong University (Jinan, China) in 2007 and 2010 respectively, and his Ph.D. from the University of Sheffield in 2015. His research interests focus on reliability of power electronic converters, technologies to reduce passive components, traction power systems, transformer less PV inverters and neutral line provision in power electronic systems.
