Project management offices (PMOs) are increasingly valued by organizational leaders. This book provides ten powerful techniques to enable a PMO to create value and benefits. These techniques include: making the business case for a PMO, determining key functions to perform by using a Work Breakdown Structure, preparing a roadmap for future functions, and assessing needed staff member competencies. The book explains when to evaluate a PMO's current functions to see if changes are needed to enhance its value to stakeholders. The book contains templates for continuous improvement plus checklists for adding functions. Case studies and discussion questions aid in running and improving a PMO.
