Finite Element Analysis Applications
Academic Press Inc (Verlag)
978-0-12-809952-0 (ISBN)
Discussion of classic FEA elements (such as truss, beam and frame) is limited. Via the use of several case studies, the book provides easy-to-follow guidance on modeling of different design problems. It uses SolidWorks simulation as the platform so that students do not need to waste time creating geometries for FEA modelling.
Zhuming Bi, Ph.D. is Associate Professor in the Department of Civil and Mechanical Engineering at Indiana University Purdue University (Fort Wayne, IN, USA). He holds two Ph.D.'s, one in Mechatronics and Control from the Harbin Institute of Technology, and the other in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Saskatchewan. Before moving to the US in 2009, Dr. Bi worked as a Research Scientist in various locations around the world, including the Northern Ireland Technology Centre at Queens University of Belfast, Integrated Manufacturing Technologies Institute of National Research Council of Canada, the School of Engineering Science of Simon Fraser University, and the College of Manufacturing Engineering at Nanjing University of Science and Technology in China. His research interests include finite element analysis, modelling and simulation, machine designs, robotics and automation, and enterprise systems. Dr. Bi has authored or co-authored 7 book chapters, 83 academic articles in international journals, and 45 papers in conference proceedings in these research areas. He has over 20 years of teaching and research experience in Finite Element Analysis.
