This volume brings together a selection of articles from "Analog" Magazine about intriguing new ideas for the exploration and colonization of space, from descriptions of new types of rockets and space ships, to proposals for the colonization of the planets and for interstellar travel. "Analog" Magazine is a respected periodical for popular science readers. Its contributors produce a range of new proposals for space travel which are scientifically plausible, including plans for the exploration of Mars, proposals for interstellar travel at the speed of light, and the concept of "terraforming" other planets to make them hospitable for human life.
STANLEY SCHMIDT, Ph.D., is the Editor of Analog Science Fiction/Science Fact magazine, for which he has received 16 Hugo Award nominations. He is the author of four novels, including Lifeboat Earth and Newton and the Quasi-Apple, and is a member of the Board of Advisors of the National Space Society. ROBERT ZUBRIN, Ph.D., is an astronautics engineer whose work has been profiled in Newsweek and Air & Space/Smithsonian magazines. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the National Space Society and a Fellow of the British Interplanetary Society.
