Presents a guide that explains how to create models, set designs, lighting, animation, rendering, and more. It covers digital techniques such as fly-thoughts, texture-mapping, and 3-D modeling. Also included is a section on tops and shortcuts for faster execution, and simulations. Finally, a case study to illustrate the principles in action.
Thanks to recent improvements in 3-D software, architects and designers can create on the computer more easily than ever before. "Digital Space" is a comprehensive, user-friendly guide that explains, step-by-step, how to create models - set designs - lighting - animation - rendering - and more. It covers digital techniques such as fly-thoughts, texture-mapping, 3-D modeling, ray tracing, and radiosity. Also included is a section on tops and shortcuts for faster execution, reduced file size, and simulations. Finally, a detailed case study is shown from concept to completion to illustrate the principles in action.

Peter Weishar (New York, NY), a multimedia design expert, is an Assistant Professor at the New York University School of Film and Television where he teaches 3D design and computer animation.
