This text reviews all the aspects of deep face-lifting and related procedures used in facial rejuvenation - the subperiosteal face lift. The ancillary procedures involving smaller facial units - brow lifts, upper face-lift, cervicofacial (neck) rejuvenation - are also addressed. The one main objective is to collate results from recent anatomic studies concerning the layers of the face, with special attention to the SMAS concept, and to highlight the main deep face-lifting techniques that have completely changed the concepts of facial rejuvenation.
