This work features sections on the JCT management contract, the JCT works contract, the employer/works contractor agreement WC/3, and arbitration.
Management contracting is being used increasingly for large, complex building projects, in preference to traditional procurement methods such as JCT80, since it allows for an early start on site, speedier completion, and generally greater flexibility. Against this, clients may well find themselves bearing a greater financial risk and paying more for site management and it is essential therefore that they appreciate the drawbacks as well as the advantages of the system. In the past, there has been a confusing range of forms for management contracting, mostly produced by the contractors specialising in this area. Now for the first time, the Joint Contracts Tribunal has produced a cross-industry standard form for management contracting, together with a Works Contract and Employer/Works Contractor Agreement. This new book will look in detail at the JCT Management Contract, at the legal background and at the practical aspect of the forms in use.

Part 1 The JCT management contract: intention of the parties; possession and completion; control of the works; payment provisions; insurance and indemnity; determination. Part 2 The JCT works contract: tender documentation; possession and completion; control of works; payment provisions; insurance and indemnity; determination. Part 3 The employer/works contractor agreement WC/3. Part 4 Arbitration.
