The simple format, using diagrams and examples, provides students with guidance to navigate their way through the information available in BS 7671 while studying electrical courses.
The book provides information on various acts and regulations that students will need to know throughout their studies and into their careers, including easy to understand guidance designed to develop practical abilities and understanding of simple circuits.
Steven Devine was recruited from the educational sector to oversee the IET's further involvement with students working with the IET Wiring Regulations. When students begin studying to become an electrician, either through an apprenticeship or on a full-time course, they will generally have little or no knowledge of the IET Wiring Regulations and the related guidance, such as the On-Site Guide and the Guidance Note suite. Steven's focus is to provide students with a clearer understanding of the importance of standards and regulations - who is actually responsible for them and how much voluntary time is contributed from experts from the electrotechnical industry. Steven also serves as Secretary to Panel C Shock Protection, one of the four panels that makes up the decision-making committee behind the IET Wiring Regulations, JPEL/64.
