Fully authorised and supported by Heathrow, the Haynes Heathrow Airport Manual takes the reader behind the scenes of the world's busiest airport, investigating all aspects of its organisation
Fully authorised and supported by Heathrow, the Haynes Heathrow Airport Manual takes the reader behind the scenes of the world’s busiest airport, investigating all aspects of its organisation. The author covers airport management, runways, terminals, air traffic control and airport operations, including fuelling, baggage services, freight, passenger services, retail, engineering, emergency services, ground transportation systems, security, meteorology, simulator training and telecommunications. This is a fascinating subject, ripe for the Haynes Manual treatment.

Robert Wicks is the author of four books for Haynes in the Adventure Motorcycling series. A self-confessed aviation enthusiast, Robert initially moved to the UK from South Africa in 1987 to join the Army Air Corps. He is a qualified paragliding pilot and has taken the first steps towards gaining his Private Pilot’s Licence. Robert is a prolific traveller, having passed through Heathrow more than 500 times on work and leisure trips in the past 12 years. He lives in Berkshire.

Fascinating 'how-it-works' Haynes Manual approach to the operation of Heathrow Airport. Covers all aspects of airport organisation - from airport management to runways, terminals and air traffic control; and from fuelling, baggage services and freight to engineering and emergency services. Fully illustrated with more than 250 photographs and drawings. Published with the full support of Heathrow Airport.
