Providing education in electrocardiography, this text features two-color ECGs so readers can see ECG strips as they appear in clinical practice. It includes chapters on ischemia and infarction.
For over four decades the Marriott name has been a synonym for quality education in electrocardiography. As "Practical Electrocardiography's" new author, Galen Wagner proved a worthy successor to Barney Marriott with an innovative Ninth Edition of this classic text. The new Tenth Edition features two-color ECGs so readers can see ECG strips as they appear in clinical practice. Extensive updates to chapters on ischemia and infarction provide a current view of these critical areas. The text is revised with more consistent terminology, and a complete approach to the topic that gives the reader a better understanding of electrocardiography in today's medicine.

Part 1 The basic concepts: cardiac electrical activity; recording the electrocardiogram; interpretation of the normal electrocardiogram. Part 2 Abnormal wave morphology: chamber enlargement; intraventricular conduction abnormalities; ventricular pre-excitation; myocardial ischemia and infarction; electrocardiogram changes of ischemia due to increased myocardial demand; electrocardiogram changes of ischemia due to insufficient blood supply; electrocardiogram changes of infarction. Part 3 Abnormal rhythms: tachyarrhythmias - extrasystoles, sinus and other accelerated pacemaker tachycardias, atrial flutter fibrillation, AV junctional tachycardias, aberrant ventricular conduction from a superventricular tachycardia, ventricular tachycardia and fibrillation; bradarrhythmias - sinus pauses and sinus arrest, AV block, artificial pacemakers.
