Professor Peter Hagedorn vertritt an der Technischen Universität Darmstadt das Fach Technische Mechanik in Lehre und Forschung. Er hält seit mehreren Jahrzehnten Vorlesungen über Technische Mechanik und über Technische Schwingungslehre für Hörer unterschiedlicher Fachrichtungen.
