34101 Introduction to Boilermaking (5 Hours) Provides an overview of the boilermaking field, including the uses of boilers in industry, common terminology used in the field, and a description of the different job opportunities available to a boilermaker.

 

34102 Boilermaking Safety (10 Hours)

Covers specific safety-related issues that exist in a boilermaking environment. Gives special attention to the proper use of safety equipment utilized by boilermakers on the job.

 

34103 Boilermaking Tools (15 Hours)

Introduces the wide variety of hand and power tools used by boilermakers. Discusses hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical power tools commonly used by a boilermaker with safety given a top priority.

 

34104 Basic Materials (10 Hours)

Provides information to identify the different materials used in the construction of a boiler. Discusses material properties, standards and codes, and standard material markings.

 

34105 Oxyfuel Cutting (17.5 Hours)

Contains information pertaining to the proper and safe use of oxyfuel cutting equipment to cut steel and iron. Discusses safety and the proper operating procedures for this type of equipment.

 

34106 Cutting and Fitting Gaskets (10 Hours)

Describes the various types of gasket materials commonly used in flanges and presents the proper procedure to use for laying out and cutting a flange gasket. Covers proper tightening technique.

 

34107 Welding Basics (30 Hours)

Introduces various welding processes commonly used in the construction of boilers and boiler systems. Discusses proper rod selection, welded joint preparation, shielding gas, and welder certification.
