Integrating molecular biology with physics and chemistry, tissue engineering emphasizes research in synthesis of new tissues and organs in vivo and in vitro. Using data and analyses from a study of skin and peripheral nerves, this book views that what shows promise with these two organs suggests a generic methodology for synthesis of other organs.
