The presented work is devoted to numerical modelling and investigatingthe dynamic characteristics of induction through-heaters for metal stripand slabs. Nowadays investigation of these installations is mainly concentratedon their operation in “quasi” steady-state modes. However,analysis of industrial practice shows that various kinds of transient processesin induction heating installations cover a significant portion oftotal operation time. Thus effectiveness of the installations is noticeablydetermined by their dynamic characteristics as well. Investigating thedynamic characteristic of induction through-heaters for metal strip andslabs are of especially high importance due to their high level of powerand huge production rate. Numerical simulation is only way to fill up thegap because of any experimental approaches imply extremely high costand time procedures with limited monitoring ability.[.]
