The first book devoted to all aspects and types of mesoporous materials describes, in an in-depth and systematic manner, the step-by-step synthesis, synthesis mechanism, characterization, morphology control, hybridization, and applications of mesoporous molecular sieves. In so doing, it covers silicates, metal-doped silicates, non-silicates, and organic-inorganic hybrids. While the emphasis is on synthesis, the leading expert authors also discuss characterization and applications ranging from catalysis and biochemistry to optics and the use of these materials as templates for nanomaterial synthesis. Both the fundamentals as well as the latest research results are covered, ensuring this monograph serves as a handy reference for researchers as well as newcomers to the field.

Professor Dongyuan Zhao is Cheung Kong Professor of the China Education Ministry, Vice Director of the Advanced Materials Laboratory at Fudan University and Visiting Professor at Monash University (Australia). He is an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. With over 300 peer-reviewed papers (including 14 review articles) earning >15000 citations he is the 65th Most-Cited Scientist in Chemistry (according to ISI). Prof. Zhao's interest in synthesis of porous materials has led to a number of significant contributions to the research field, including the creation of two families of novel mesoporous molecular sieves (SBA and FDU). Dr. Ying Wan has been a Professor at Shanghai Normal University since 2006. Her research interests encompass mesoporous materials and their applications in catalysis. She has published >30 papers in international journals, including 4 review articles. Dr. Wuzong Zhou is a Reader in Chemistry at the University of St Andrews, UK. During the past 20 years, he has been working on porous materials and has published more than 200 papers in international journals.
