This book focuses on the formulation and delivery of dendrimers. It offers both a comprehensive introduction and reference to practical applications. The coverage encompasses dendritic drug delivery systems ranging from dendrimers chemistry to cellular uptake of dendritic nanoparticles. With the specific application of dendrimers in drug and biologic delivery, the text highlights their versatility in solving development issues in a wide class of drugs. Discussing all the unique opportunities, issues, and challenges involved in exploiting dendrimers for improving drug delivery, this book helps pharmaceutical and related scientists understand and work with this drug carrier.

YIYUN CHENG, PhD, is a Full Professor of Biomedical Engineering at the School of Life Science of East China Normal University. His research interests focus on the biomedical applications of dendrimers and other dendritic polymers. Dr. Cheng has published more than forty peer-reviewed manuscripts in such journals as Nature Materials, Chemical Society Reviews, and Journal of the American Chemical Society.
