This indispensable collection of seminal papers on ferroelectricity provides an overview over almost a hundred years of basic and applied research. Containing historic contributions from renowned authors, this book presents developments in an area of science that is still rapidly growing. Although primarily aimed at scientists and academics involved in research, this will also be of use to students as well as newcomers to the field.
Julio A. Gonzalo, Professor of Physics, Departamento de Fisica de Materiales: Professor Gonzalo has lectured at several prestigious academic and research institutes around the world, and was organizer and chairman of several international conferences on ferroelectricity. His research interests include ferroelectricity, phase transitions as well as materials physics in general. Basilio Jimenez, Research Director ICMM, Madrid: Professor Jimenez is a member of the Spanish Royal Society of Physics and Spanish Materials Society. He has directed many Spanish and European Research Projects. His research interests include, among other things, ferro-piezoelectric materials.
