For more than 20 years, the IAEA has provided support and assistance to its Member States under the terms of the Convention on Assistance in the Case of a Nuclear Accident or Radiological Emergency, and has produced follow-up reports on radiological accidents that have occurred. A number of such accident reports have now been published and the findings and conclusions of these reports have provided a basis for safety improvements.
