The Editor: Peter Kupfer, Prof. Dr., head of the Section of Chinese Studies at Mainz University, has carried out several research activities and projects in modern Chinese language and culture and holds a number of international functions in this field. In 2000 he was awarded the Friendship Order of Chinese Language and Culture by the People’s Republic of China.
