Charles Gates is an assistant professor of arcaeology and history of art at Bilkent University in Ankara, Turkey. His research focuses on Minoan, Mycenaean and Greek art and archaeology. Since 1993 he has excavated the Bronze and Iron Age settlements at Kinet Höyük (Turkey).
