This book is written for engineers, scientists, and technology professionals who require a simple, concise, and practical guide to all forms of communication: writing, presenting, and interacting (such as in meetings and team activities). It also provides strategies for communicating technical information to non-technical audiences, a frequent concern when applying for funding or selling technical products. It provides useful, proven methods for accomplishing these communication tasks, focusing upon real-world situations and challenges. It's a basic principle: In order to convince a reader that communications can be fun, the book on communications must be fun to read. More than a mere outline or storyboard, it assists the communicator in capturing the connection, flow, and appropriate reinforcement.

HERBERT L. HIRSCH began his career at Systems Research Laboratories (now part of Veridian Corporation) in Dayton, Ohio, and rose to the position of Senior Engineer. Mr. Hirsch has also served as an Engineering Group Leader for Quest Research Corporation, Director of Systems Engineering for Applications Research Corporation, Director of Engineering for Defense Technology, Inc., and Chief Engineer for MTL Systems, Inc. He has also authored and coauthored books on radar antenna simulation, statistical signal processing, hardware description languages, and electronic countermeasures.
