The validation process examined in this text is one in common use in universities which were formerly polytechnics, and is based on the principle of peer review and the model developed by the CNNA. Practical aspects of planning and implementing the validation process are examined, and in addition ongoing aspects relating to the maintenance and monitoring of a validated course and its subsequent periodic review are discussed.
