Dr Jodi Roffey-Barentsen is Principal Lecturer and Learning and Teaching Lead at the School of Education at the University of Brighton. She teaches undergraduate courses in Education and Early Childhood Education and contributes to postgraduate courses including the MA in Education and EdD. She supervises EdD and PhD students and is experienced in viva voce examinations (internal/external examining and chairing). Furthermore, Jodi is a member of the Children and Young People’s Voice and Education Research and Enterprise Group. Jodi’s previous experience is in Further Education, where she was course leader for Teacher Education, BA(Hons) Education and Foundation Degree courses in Learning Support. Her research interests include Reflective Practice, Learning Support and Employability. Jodi is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. Dr Iona Burnell Reilly is an interdisciplinary qualitative researcher in the fields of Sociology, Education and Positive Psychology. Based in the School of Childhood and Social Care at the University of East London, much of Iona’s teaching/lecturing has been in the field of Sociology of Education. Iona recently joined the Teacher Education and Training team as Course Leader for the Post Graduate Certificate in Teaching and Learning in Higher Education, this course is the route to Fellowship of Advance HE for new lecturers. Iona’s teaching experience and background is in Further Education, where she taught English Language (ESOL) and Access Courses at a college in London for 10 years before moving into Higher Education. Iona continues to teach, supervise, examine, research, write and publish on topics related to the Sociology and Psychology of Education.
