The assignments are designed to help students test and improve their skills which are relevant to the business world. It also contains guidance for teachers and tutors on setting up courses and managing work based projects. The authors are former Senior Tutors at Bexley Youth Training Scheme.

Section 1 Integrated assignments: health and safety; personal budgeting; fundraising; office junior; driving the company van; storing and handling goods; the travel agency; planning a trip; applying for jobs. Section 2 Skill-based tasks: organizing information; business letters and memos; telephone techniques; conveying information; finding help and advice; estimating; responding to compliments; computers in distribution; emergencies at the workplace; selecting job applicants.
