This book addresses questions of pluralism in a time of increasing ethnic, religious and cultural diversity in the public and private spaces of our cities. It analyses different types of regulation — property rights, municipal ordinances and urban planning — and their role in protecting and supporting diversity.
The book is primarily addressed to academic readers both researchers and students from different disciplinary fields dealing with urban space: urban planning, architecture, urban design, geography, and sociology. Its specific focus on issues of legal and political geography makes it particularly attractive to scholars working across the fields of legal studies, political science, urban planning, and geography.
