Reconnect with Your Sexuality After LossBeing open about sex can be difficult, especially after the loss of a partner. Join author Joan Price as she navigates sex, romance, and mourning in her bestselling book, Sex After Grief.
Should I take this second chance? Exploring sex after a partner’s passing can seem impossible. With a lot of emotions and memories to still process, the thought of moving on makes many widows and widowers feel uncertain. But what if you had the clarity you need to make that decision? This revolutionary grief book covers every question you have about restarting your life with a new sex partner. Sharing author Joan Price’s own experience surrounding love and death, Sex After Grief will guide you in going forward with a piece of yourself that was once tied to your loved one.
Embrace your healing journey the way you want. Everyone’s experience with sex and grief is never the same, as many take different steps in finding what they want. Some jump into a new relationship while others withdraw from intimacy altogether. Sex After Grief features various stories about being sexually active again and how their decisions brought them the sense of peace that they needed. By debunking hurtful myths about sex and dating, you will discover how sexuality can go hand in hand with mourning no matter what you choose.
Inside, you’ll also find helpful tips such as:
Grief advice from sexual health professionals
What does being sex-positive mean to you
Why sex can be comforting for your emotions and needs
Recognizing your new boundaries in relationships going forward
So, if you enjoyed books such as The In-Between, Sex Talks, or Wild Hope, then you will love Sex After Grief.
Joan Price is a writer and advocate known for several award-winning books about age-positive sexuality. Starting as a freelance writer for health and fitness publications, she later began breaking stereotypes by writing about how older-life individuals had active sex lives. She would soon meet her husband Robert, who inspired her to write her bestselling book, Better Than I Ever Expected. Robert passed away in 2008 from cancer, motivating Joan to explore mortality and sexuality in her books. Today, she continues to present workshops, webinars, and interviews about the joy of sex and aging. Joan currently lives in Sebastopol, CA with her second husband.
