Hasan Gürkan is a Maria Zambrano Fellow in the Department of Philology and Communication at the University of Girona in Spain and Assoc. Prof. Dr. in the department of Radio, Television and Cinema at Istinye University.He holds a Ph.D. from the Istanbul University Department of Radio, Television, and Cinema. He did his post-doc research in the Department of Journalism and Communication Sciences Institute at Vienna University on migration and Austrian-Turkish immigrant directors’ films. He has written Counter Cinema and Journalism Practices books. His research articles have been published in the journals such as Feminist Media Studies, Studies in European Cinema, Online Journal of Communication and Media Technologies, KOME: An International Journal of Pure Communication Inquiry, Medijske studije, Acta Universitatis Sapientiae: Film and Media Studies, CINEJ Cinema Journal, Information & Media, Communication Today, Profesional de la Informacion . His focus is on counter cinema, Hollywood Cinema, alternative media, cinema and representations, cinema-migration-transnational films, and gender studies. Aybike Serttaş is a distinguished academic and communication expert who has had a profound impact on the field of communication sciences. She earned her Doctorate in Communication Sciences, specializing in Radio, Television, and Cinema, from Marmara University in 2010, followed by a Bachelor's degree in International Relations at Karadeniz Technical University. With a diverse teaching background at Istinye University, Arel University, Gelisim University, and Beykent University, Dr. Serttaş has contributed significantly to education. Her roles have included Vice Dean of Communication Faculty and Head of the Radio, Cinema, and Television Department at Istinye University. Alongside her teaching, she has authored several books, including "Image Editing on Television" and "Advertisement: Basic Concepts," and published numerous articles in national and international peer-reviewed journals. Her research interests span various topics, such as the transformation of love in the digital age and the representation of persons with disabilities in cartoon series. Dr. Serttaş's dedication extends beyond academia; she has provided training on communication, negotiation, and internet addiction to organizations and institutions, demonstrating her commitment to societal well-being. Her contributions to the field and her passion for education and social causes establish her as a respected figure in Communication Sciences.
