Brigitte Bernard-Rau is a postdoctoral researcher and fellow at the University of Hamburg, Germany. She obtained her PhD in Management Sciences from Radboud University in Nijmegen, The Netherlands. Her research focuses on ESG (environmental, social, and governance) issues, ESG performance and ratings, Sustainable Finance (SF), Socially Responsible Investment (SRI), impact investing and corporate social responsibility (CSR). With experience in international business development and as an ESG analyst at oekom research AG (now ISS-ESG), she has also worked at the Cooperation Aid Directorate of the European Commission now Directorate-General for International Partnerships. Dr. Bernard-Rau is a graduate of Novancia Business School Paris, France, and holds an LL.M. in European Comparative Law from the University Carlos III de Madrid, Spain.
