Proceedings of the International Hindukush Cultural Conference

The papers brought together here reflect both concern for and an understanding of the problems faced by the people of Northern Pakistan and the Hundukush and Karakoram regions as a whole, and include more than 30 papers from an international group of scholars.

The Second International Hindukush Cultural Conference was organized in Chitral by the Anjuman-e-Taraqqi-e-Khowar to introduce the cultural heritage of Chitral to scholars throughout the world. The papers brought together here reflect both concern for and an understanding of the problems faced by the people of northern Pakistan and the Hundukush and Karakoram regions as a whole, and include more than thirty papers from an international group of scholars, and from a variety of disciplines such as anthropology, history, linguistics, and musicology.
