Claire Joseph has been the Director of the Medical Library at Mount Sinai South Nassau in Oceanside, NY for more than 20 years. Mount Sinai South Nassau is a 455-bed acute care, teaching community hospital and is the Long Island flagship of the Mount Sinai Health System NY, NY. As a solo librarian, Claire manages all aspects of library management and services. Claire is active in the Medical Library Association and other professional organizations. She is Chair Elect of the Consumer and Patient Health Education Caucus, a column editor for the Nursing and Allied Health Caucus newsletter, and a past chair of the Hospital Libraries Section. She also is an active member of several hospital committees. She is the author of The Medical Library Association Guide to Developing Consumer Health Collections, published by Rowman & Littlefield in 2018. Claire is the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Consumer Health on the Internet and the Book Review editor for the Journal of Hospital Librarianship. In addition, she has authored journal articles and presented numerous continuing education programs for library and nursing associations. Priscilla Stephenson has been a hospital library manager in public, for-profit, and VA hospital libraries, as well as a reference department head and faculty member at an academic health sciences library. She is the Chief, Library Service, at James A. Haley Veterans’ Hospital in Tampa, Florida where she coordinates staff and resources for the medical and patient libraries in the main hospital and two Patient Education Resource Centers (PERCs) in affiliated community clinics in suburban Tampa. She is actively involved in planning for PERCs in two new facilities under construction in nearby towns. Priscilla is active professionally in the Medical Library Association and several of its sections. She is a past chair of the Southern Chapter, the Federal Libraries Section, and the Hospital Libraries Section. She has served on the editorial boards of JMLA and EBLIP, edited an annual column in MRSQ since 2012, and co-edited a quarterly column in JCHI since 2006. Her publications include a chapter in Consumer Health Information Service and Programs: Best Practices (M. Sandra Wood, ed., Rowman & Littlefield, c2016), and numerous journal articles.
